
BREAD PUDDING WITH BOURBON SAUCE
Ingredients
- 6 cups day-old bread cubed
- 3 cups milk
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup raisins optional
BOURBON SAUCE
- ½ cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg beaten
- ¼ cup bourbon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place bread in greased 9x13 dish. Whisk milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla; pour over bread. Stir in raisins. Let soak 15 minutes. Bake 40–45 minutes until set. For sauce: melt butter, stir in sugar and egg. Cook until thickened. Remove from heat, stir in bourbon. Pour over warm pudding.
