
FRIED GREEN TOMATOES WITH BUTTERMILK RANCH
Ingredients
- 4 firm green tomatoes sliced ½-inch thick
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup cornmeal
- ½ cup flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Dip tomato slices in buttermilk, then dredge in flour/cornmeal mixture. Heat ½ inch oil in skillet. Fry tomatoes 2–3 minutes per side until golden. Drain on paper towels, serve hot with buttermilk ranch.
